The Australian Lipid Society is a community of researchers, clinicians, students, and industry partners working across lipid biology, lipidomics, and lipid biochemistry in Australia. Membership is open, free, and gives you a voice in the future of the Society.

Membership is Free

There are no joining fees and no annual subscriptions. The Society is a not-for-profit organisation and is funded through its activities - primarily the Australian Lipid Meeting (ALM) - not through membership fees.

Who Can Join

Membership is open to anyone who:

  • Is based in or connected to Australia, and
  • Is aged 16 or over, and
  • Supports the objects of the Society as set out in the constitution.

This includes researchers, clinicians, students, postdoctoral fellows, technical and professional staff, industry partners, and international collaborators with Australian connections.

What Membership Means

As a member of the Australian Lipid Society, you:

  • Receive direct notification of upcoming Australian Lipid Meetings, calls for nominations, and Society announcements
  • Are eligible to vote at general meetings, including the Annual General Meeting
  • Are eligible to stand for election to the management committee
  • Help shape the future direction of lipid science in Australia

How to Join

To become a member, complete the short online application form below. We collect your name, email, affiliation, and a confirmation that you support the Society’s objects - this is what we are required to record under the constitution.

Applications are processed by the Society Secretary. Membership commences once you are entered into the register, and you will be notified by email once this is complete.

Privacy

Your details will be held by the Society’s Secretary on the member register, as required under the Associations Incorporation Act 2015 (Western Australia). The register is used solely for Society business - meeting notices, election communications, and announcements. It is not shared with third parties or used for any commercial purpose.
